The overall goal of the Wellesley Institute is to advance urban health and our community engagement initiative aims to drive this social change. We will work with a wide variety of partners, using a comprehensive toolkit that includes customized education, coalition building, policy mobilization and skills development. Our community engagement work is closely related to our research and policy work. We focus on three major initiatives: housing and homelessness, health equity and reform, and the St. Jamestown “Healthy Immigrant” project. We work to engage community leaders and policy-makers at the local, provincial, national and international levels.
