The University of Toronto's Centre for Urban and Community Studies promotes and disseminates multidisciplinary research and policy analysis on urban issues.The Centre's activities are intended to contribute to scholarship on questions relating to the social and economic well-being of people who live and work in urban areas large and small, in Canada and around the world.
Canadian Housing and Renewal Association
Canadian Housing and Renewal Association (CHRA) is a national non-profit organization that promotes access to adequate, affordable housing for low- and modest-income households, and seeks to heighten awareness of affordable housing issues through research, advocacy,
networking and communications.
Co-operative Housing Federation of Canada
The Co-operative Housing Federation of Canada (CHF Canada) is the organized voice of the Canadian co-operative housing movement. CHF represents and serve the community of housing co-operatives across Canada and member organizations that support their operation and development.
Toronto Disaster Relief Committee
The Toronto Disaster Relief Committee (TDRC) is a broad group of social policy, health care and housing experts, business people, community health workers and social workers, AIDS and anti-poverty activists, people with homelessness experience, and members of the faith community. TDRC provides advocacy on housing and homelessness issues. TDRC has declared homelessness as a national disaster, and demands that Canada end homelessness by implementing a fully-funded National Housing Program through the One Percent Solution.
The Greater Toronto Urban Observatory
The Greater Toronto Urban Observatory monitors and evaluates urban conditions and trends. It is part of the global network of urban observatories under the umbrella of the United Nation's Centre for Human Settlements .

The United Nations Human Settlements Programme, UN-HABITAT, is the United Nations agency for human settlements. It is mandated by the UN General Assembly to promote socially and environmentally sustainable towns and cities with the goal of providing adequate shelter for all.
The Habitat International Coalition's Housing and Land Rights Committee
The Habitat International Coalition's Housing and Land Rights Committee is an international non-governmental organization that monitors housing and human rights issues globally. It has an excellent toolkit on housing and human rights. A good, on-line library of housing and urban resources.
