Premium Workshop: Respect in the Workplace

The Human Rights Code is all about respect in the workplace. Come to an all day workshop where we will understand our rights and responsibilities under the legislation, explore real-life vignettes, and identify which behaviours/environments contravene the Code. Dealing with complaints filed at the Human Rights Commission can be a lengthy and costly process and quite disruptive in an organization. Learn management responsibilities and some simple strategies in preventing discrimination and harassment to create a respectful environment in the workplace.

Workshop Leader:

Elma Lobo, of Lobo Consulting Inc, is a seasoned Human Resources practitioner with over 25 years’ experience as a senior executive in both the private and public sectors in Canada.

She has also lived and worked in Asia and Africa and brings a richly diverse perspective to her work. Prior to starting her consulting business, her career spanned a wide range of companies from Nortel and Consumers Glass to upper and lower tier governments in Peel and Metro Toronto.

As a consultant, Elma has investigated over sixty human rights and harassment complaints and is very familiar with how the Human Rights Commission interprets and enforces the Code.
