The Youth Migration Project was designed to assess HIV vulnerability, and health and social service needs of migrant LGBT and Two-Spirited youth who have migrated to Toronto from other cities and towns, and from outside of Canada (immigrant, refugee and undocumented). It also helped to identify the impact on youth of current social policies regarding immigration, housing, and employment, access to social assistance, health and HIV prevention. In total, (n=97) interviews were conducted, (n=38) with key informants (service providers, policy experts, and community leaders), and (n=59) with youth having a lived experience of immigration or migration. This innovative project represents addressed an important and under research topic, providing much needed insights into this topic. The study focused on two areas: Migration within Canada; Two-Spirit Youth & Trans Youth International Migration; and Newcomer & Refugee Youth.
