The Pathways to Education Program is a unique initiative of the Regent Park Community Health Centre, with the goal of realizing the vision of the Health Centre; namely, that “The children of the community will become the doctors, nurses, social workers, community health workers, and administrators of the Health Centre. The Pathways Program provides four types of supports for students and parents: academics supports, social supports, financial supports, and advocacy supports. This project aimed to monitor and evaluate the needs of students and their parents through a baseline study, a tracking study, and a comparative study. The research team administered surveys to stakeholders (students, parents, mentors, and tutors), assessing the impacts of the program and conduced focus groups to explore in greater depth those same issues. Findings from this evaluation can be found in their final report, and for more information on the project visit their web site
